Máté Nagy reaches the podium at the Preworlds (26.07.2010)

Nova Team Pilot Máté Nagy reached a great second place at the Preworlds in Piedrahita (Spain) with his Triton in the serial class. Piedrahita is a village, 150km west of Madrid, which is known for great soaring and thermal conditions. During the Preworlds the site presented itself in the best light and the serial class could complete five tasks with up to 155 kilometers.

Máté, who started paragliding in 2006 felt comfortable in the very strong conditions and was able to win two tasks and finally finished second in the overall ranking.

Christoph Bessei, a member of the Nova Juniors team, competed in his first international competition and finished in the middle of all participants. (rank 33)

XC Month (19.07.2010)

After a lot of bad weather in may and june, july finally offers great conditions for nice flights and big XC flights. NOVA Team Pilot Peter Ertle was on the spot and could improve his PG-OPEN ranking at DHV XC from place 118 to the third place with just two flights. Peter flies one of the very first Tritons, which left our factory in autumn 2008. Probably there is no other Triton with a similar kilometrage: Peter submitted flights with more than 3000 kilometers! He reports, that the glider flies as nice, as it did on the very first day, and that his excitement about the glider is still the same as well. For him, the Triton offers a perfect combination of performance, handling characteristics, stability and safety.

It seems, that we stroke the right path, when we decided, not to build a very extreme wing, to barely pass the EN D / LTF 2-3 tests.

Collapse co-production of Alex Höllwarth and Hannes Papesh (sitting in front)

After one month without great weather, we are really happy about the perfect conditions at the moment which allow us progress with different projects. One of these projects is a biplace, we have started to work on recently.

The challenge, when testing high performance prototypes often is, to deal with the reactions after collapses. The problem we are facing with our tandem is, that we are almost unable to provoke big collapses. On the two pictures above you can see our test pilot Alex Höllwarth and Hannes Papesh who induces a collapse with all his effort to get an idea of the gliders behaviour.

The first impression is quite good, but there is still a lot of work left, before we can present our new biplace. (It is almost certain, that we will introduce (at least) one solo glider before.)

We hope, that where ever you fly, the weather is as enjoyable as here in Tyrol and that you are having some nice flights!

Prion 19 certified (EN A/ LTF 1) (11.06.2010)

On a small XC flight with the PRION

A couple of days ago the smallest PRION (19sqm projected) was successfully certified with EN A/ LTF 1. Our test pilot Alex Höllwarth had to work hard during the last weeks to reach the safety level of the bigger sizes without loosing speed or the well balanced handling characteristics.

Finally Alex was successful and the small PRION offers (like the other sizes) superior take-off and flight behaviour and a very pleasant handling characteristic. Thanks to the weight range of 60-80kg very light pilots can now enjoy flying a PRION with perfect wing loading.

Michae Pohl réalise un triangle FAI de 200km sous sa Triton (03.05.2010)

Le pilote du Team NOVA Michael Pohl a réalisé un triangle FAI de 200 km depuis reifenburg (Emberger Alm) . Jusqu'à hier aucun pilote sous une voile de série n'avait pu voler sur une telle distance depuis Greifenburg. Michael s'est posé avec sa TRITON après plus de 8 heures de vol et 200,27km au compteur.

Félicitations pour ce magnifique vol et tous nos voeux de réussite à Michael qui maintenant se fixe pour objectif d'allonger son triangle en visant les 220 km.

Christoph Bessei pilote du team NOVA vient d' établir un nouveau record depuis Kandel (19.04.2010)

Christian Bessei est membre du team Junior de NOVA depuis 2 ans et a débuté sa carrière de parapente il y a seulement 4 ans. Il vient de réaliser LE VOL de sa jeune vie de pilote en parcourant 150 km depuis Kendel ( en forêt noire) Le site est connu pour ses possibilités de vol de cross mais personne n'avait avant Christian et sa FACTOR parcouru ici une telle distance.

Bravo pour cette magnifique performance.
